SUPER CREAMY CREAMED SPINACH
Super Creamy Creamed Spinach
This super yummy creamy creamed spinach is a rich and decadent side dish that is sure to impress.
It starts with a base of tender, wilted spinach leaves (either fresh from the garden or baby spinach), which are sauteed in a creamy sauce made with a combination of heavy cream and cream cheese. The sauce is silky smooth and perfectly coats each leaf of spinach, infusing it with a burst of rich, creamy flavor. The dish is finished with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. Fresh herbs, such as parsley or chives, could also be added, to add a fresh pop of flavour.
Whether served as a side for a special occasion or as a comforting weeknight dinner, creamy creamed spinach is a truly indulgent treat. You could even use any leftovers as a dip for your favourite raw veggies or serve it on a cracker the next day.
60 ml / 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
6-8 cloves Garlic (minced)
500 grams of fresh spinach or Baby spinach
250 ml / 1 cup Heavy cream
250 grams / 8 oz Cream cheese (cut into small pieces)
10 ml / 2 tsp Italian seasoning
5 ml / 1 tsp Himalayan rock salt
3 ml / 1/2 tsp Black pepper
Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)
Fresh herbs, such as parsley or chives (optional, for serving)
Melt butter in a large stainless steel pot over low to medium heat. Add minced garlic and saute until fragrant.
60 ml / 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
6-8 cloves Garlic (minced)
Add spinach. Saute for 3 to 5 minutes, until wilted. You can do this by adding 1 batch of spinach, cooking that down by using a folding motion, and then adding more, until it is all added.
500 grams of Fresh spinach or Baby spinach
Add heavy cream and cream cheese. Stir constantly until the cream cheese melts.
250 ml / 1 cup Heavy cream
250 grams / 8 oz Cream cheese (cut into small pieces)
Add Himalayan rock salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for a few minutes until thickened. (Sauce will thicken more as it cools from hot to warm.)
10 ml / 2 tsp Italian seasoning
5 ml / 1 tsp Himalayan rock salt
3 ml / 1/2 tsp Black pepper
For a bit of extra sparkle, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese for serving.
